  @Amberchenai

Hi, please check the SIM card status on Advanced->Status page, if it shows No SIM card when a working SIM card is inserted properly, please try the following steps to see if it will fix the issue:

  • Restart the router with the SIM card inserted.
  • Reset the router by pressing and holding the RESET pinhole for 10s until all LED lights flash off then back on.

If still no any SIM card can be detected, please contact the seller where you bought it originally to check the warranty and get it replaced.

Hi, please insert a working SIM card into the device, then login to the web interface via tplinkmodem.net or 192.168.1.1, then please check SIM card status on Advanced->Status page and share with us a screenshot of the Status page.

If it shows No SIM card, you could also try a different SIM card, and try the following steps to see if it will fix the issue:

  • Restart the router with the SIM card inserted.
  • Reset the router by pressing and holding the RESET button for 10s until power LED start flashing

If still no any SIM card can be detected, please contact the seller where you bought it originally to check the warranty and get it replaced.

Hi, please check the SIM card status on Advanced->Status page, if indeed it shows No SIM card when there is a working SIM card in, and problem still exists after trying the troubleshooting steps mentioned on this post such as reboot it with SIM card in etc., please contact the seller where you bought it originally to check warranty and get it replaced.

Have the same issue with my TL-MR6400 V4.

Bought in June, stopped detecting cards in July :(
Tried the mentioned troubleshooting steps - still not working.

Do you know what can be the issue? I assume it must be hardware one - but do we know anything more (@TP-Link, @Sunshine)?
I've seen that somebody on YT fixed that by replacing the SIM card slot. Not ideal, but if you can confirm that it's most likely it, then it should be easier and cheaper than sending the router back for warranty replacement.

  @ranjbar If you are getting an “Invalid SIM Card” or “No SIM” error, you can try restarting your Android device, removing the SIM card and re-adding it, and resetting network and APN settings. If nothing works, you may need to replace your damaged SIM card with another one (from the same carrier), keeping your number.
