TL-MR6400:"SIM Card Status:not found"
TL-MR6400:"SIM Card Status:not found"
Hello,
i've a problem with my TL-MR6400 4g router.
since a couple of days the sim card is "not found" so the connection status is "disconnected".
the 4g router worked without issue since several months.
i tested the sim card on an other device and it's ok.
i tried to restore the configuration to factory with the same result.
the firmware can't be upgrade because the device is already at the latest V1 version.
I don't know what to do, if you already have the same issue, can you help me?
thanks in advance.
PS: hereunder the screenshot of the error.

Could you please send us the system log of the MR6400 to do further analysis? Go to advanced-system tools-system log and hit save log, please send the txt file to us.
Have you ever tried to change another sim card to do a comparison test?
How do you make it back to work after the error message pops up?
Who is the sim card carrier?

Is that the system log of the MR6400 once it lost connection and got the error message? If not, please re-send us a system log of the MR6400 after the unstable connection issue.
Meanwhile, you can try to degrade the firmware of the MR6400 to give it a shot.

Hello Kevin,
i downgraded the firmware to 160322 as you recommended but the problem is not solved.
to ensure, i tried to make a factory reset with the same result...
is there anything more to test before sending my device to trash can? ...
thanks a lot in advance.
PS: fyi, your link to download the previous versions didn't work, because it is directed to french version of site.
so i downloaded the firmware by an other way on the uk site.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear that downgrade does not help.
I have to say there is not much we can do now, instead, please contact our tech support with the thread link to check whether a replacement is qualified.

@Kevin_Z I have two of these routers. This appears to be a problem with the physical design of the SIM card slot. I have had continuous problems of the SIM card stopping being read/disconnecting whilst in use. it is a critical design failure. It would be good for TP link to acknowledge and address this and come up with a solution.

Good day.
Did you have the same issue?
Have you ever checked whether there is any obvious broken part inside the sim card slot?
By the way, did you use the sim card holder and label to fix the sim card?
After that, you might need to contact the shop retailer to get it replaced first.
