Model: Archer VR1600v
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 0.1.0 0.9.1 v5006.0 Build 200810 Rel.53181n

Hey guys, I have a VR1600v connecting to modem (NBN box, TPG ISP, I am in Australia) to get the interment access, and I also have another VR1600v I want to use it to extend the network range. This is my idea: https://i.imgur.com/AGVDVCT.png. I want all PCs to be able to connect to each other as well.
I tried to connect the WAN port on the second VR1600v to the first VR1600v, thought it would work but it doesn't...

Is this event possible?

Appreciate any helps.

@zeroarst

It should be possible to connect these two VDSL2 gateways according the topology you posted.

The second VR1600v should be in Wireless Router mode though.

Now to avoid the double NAT in your network (you mentioned that all PCs have to connect to each other),

I would use this guide - " How to setup a TP-Link DSL modem router as an Access Point? "

In the depicted diagram:

The Main Router would be your first VR1600v providing the internet access in your network.

The Access Point is your second VR1600v configured with Operation Mode - Wireless Router.

The connection between those two VR1600v should be LAN to LAN.

Just follow the instructions in the article and you should be fine.

Reposted. The support documents are changing over the time - that's normal.

For the AP device you could set the Operation mode to Wireless Router or DSL Modem Router (whatever works in your case).
