MR600 v3 - Switzerland - 4G+ on and off
Hi,
The 4G+ LED on my MR600 v3 regularly switches between on and off.
Network Mode is 4G Only. Selected Manual Bands are 3 and 20 (Sunrise - Switzerland). ISP settings shd be correct and current (ISP File 23021501).
DL and UL speed varies considerably (despite 100% signal strength), e.g. some 65 Mbps DL / 36Mbps UL initially (at 20:50h) and 20Mbps DL / 33 Mbps UL some hours later (00:34h), then 47Mbps DL and 32Mbps UL (00:43h).
System Log also shows constant switching between LTE and LTE Plus, e.g. as follows:
3 | 2023-03-25 00:43:45 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE. |
4 | 2023-03-25 00:43:11 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE PLUS. |
5 | 2023-03-25 00:43:11 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE. |
6 | 2023-03-25 00:43:10 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE PLUS. |
7 | 2023-03-25 00:43:09 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE. |
8 | 2023-03-25 00:43:08 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE PLUS. |
Is there a way to get more stable DL/UL speeds / force 4G+?
Thanks,
Gerald

Hi, I am still in Germany, roaming with my FL1 SIM (MR600 is at the same location as before), and I did another SpeedTest. Results are still relatively good (105/41 Mbps (see below)). However, the MR600 still shows 4G single band connection only (and not 4G+) (see below).
Thus, it seems to me there are two possible options what is at fault here:
1. MR600 fails to show a 4G+ connection even though it is so connected (assuming 100+/40+ Mbps can only be achieved with 4G+ CA?); or
2. MR600 fails to connect to 4G+ / set up CA, and the current speed is indeed achieved with 4G only (no CA) as displayed - and then I am wondering what the speed would be if it were to establish a 4G+ connection with proper CA (possibly 200+/50+ Mbps?)?
I wd really appreciate a response with a fix, @Sunshine
Thanks again

PS: Just in case, attached is screenshot of the System Log, which still shows a constant on-and-off LTE PLUS connection:

@Sunshine (and TP-Link MR600 team generally)
So, still roaming in Germany (same location). Created a new profile, ISP selection is set to automatic (note: roaming), manual band selection set to 1, 3, 7, 20.
Now I notice MR600 shows CA of 20, 1, but 4G only (not 4G+) in the Advanced Status tab. And then some 20 minutes later it shows 4G+ but B20 only. Also, speedtests show some 13 Mbps/11 Mbps only.
Screenshots below.
Can you pls revert and let me know how you are planning to deal with this.
If TP does not have a solution, would it be possible / make sense to open up the HW for open source FW such as OpenWRT or DD-WRT?!
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks

Hi, I am now in Germany and took the MR600 with me. But the problem remains, 4G+ is on and off. I tried, inter alia, the following:
- Band Selection / CA set to Auto
- Reboot
- Advanced section showed CA 7+3
- Basic showed 4G+
- Speed test results: DL 109 Mbps and UL 12 Mbps
- Back to Advanced section: shows 4G only with Band 7 only
Thus, this seems to be a HW/FW fault. Pls can you look into this and see to get this fixed ASAP. I am getting a bit frustrated now as I am already spending too much time simply on testing...
Also, I noted that there seems to be a lot of data streaming in the background, even though I hardly downloaded or streamed media etc. Does the router send info to TP-Link etc in the background? How can I block this?
Thanks again
