Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hello,

My Google WiFi is working great with a bridged VR2800 (PPPoE bridged DSL connection and DHCP / WiFi disabled). I have one issue though, I am unable to access the web interface of the VR2800 while I am connected to my Google WiFi network (192.168.86.x). The only way I am able to access the VR2800 web interface (192.168.1.1) is if I directly connect my laptop to the VR2800 via ethernet. I assumed that since they are on different subnets (192.168.86.x and 192.168.1.x) that they would be able to communicate with each other but that is weirdly not the case. All I need is to be able to access the VR2800 web interface remotely rather than being forced to connect via ethernet.

Any suggestions?

@hsnsky

Hello,

If the devices under different subnets (192.168.86.x and 192.168.1.x), they can't communicate with each other.

If you don't want to connect the computer to the VR2800 to access its web interface. You can set a static IP for the VR2800. The IP can set to 192.168.86.x,  so that they can under the same subnet, and you can connect the router's wifi then access the web interface of the router without Ethernet.

Here is an instruction you can refer to set a static IP for the VR2800:

May it help and have a nice day!

As I understand it, Google WiFi will detect that my 192.168.1.1 request is not within its 192.168.86.x subnet and will forward the request through it’s WAN port. But it appears the VR2800 does not intercept the request.
