Hey team, thanks for sharing this information.

I am wondering - if I do the following:

1. Pick up one of the supported routers (e.g. C80, C6) just as the EasyMesh host

2. Set the C80/C6 to AP mode

3. Remove the antennas of C80/C6 and hide it away in a faraday cage

4. Use a BE805 and AX72 via ethernet backhaul (I have these lying around as spares)

Would I then be able to effectively achieve EasyMesh in AP mode with the BE805 and AX72, and the C80/C6 just effectively acting as a "controller" of sorts?

And would there be any performance penalty?

Thanks in advance!

@dawoys Theoretically, this should work, but it seems inefficient to configure the Archer C80/C6 solely as an EasyMesh controller.cool

Instead, I suggest configuring both the BE805 and AX72 in AP Mode with identical wireless settings. Since they share the same configurations, this approach is more efficient.

Additionally, the BE805 is planned to support EasyMesh in AP Mode in the near future. Once that support is available, you can connect the BE805 and AX72 via EasyMesh.

  @Kevin_Z

I'm a bit confused, as on the EasyMesh support page

https://www.tp-link.com/en/easymesh/product-list/

It says "Archer AX55 (V1 and V4 support)". How do I know before I'm buying which one is V1 and V4...?

This depends on local inventory. If the old version is sold out, the new version is typically available. You may want to check with the store for specifics.

Any chance EasyMesh will be available on the ARCHER AXE75 in AP mode? I recently boungt the AXE75 because I thought it was the latest and one of the best models, only to realize the EasyMesh does not seem to be available in AP mode. I need the use AP mode because my Internet provider limits me to use their modem/router.

@logicnet I apologize, but I cannot say for sure when or whether Archer AXE75 will support EasyMesh in AP Mode.

If this feature is a must-have one, I recommend contacting your reseller to see if he can exchange it for a model that already supports it.

Bonjour, est-ce qu'un tel firmware pour le BE800 est envisageable ?

@Onyx2024 BE800 is also on the planned list to support EasyMesh when working in AP Mode. Please wait.

  @Kevin_Z

Will AP Controller support be coming to the AX53 v1 model?

If not, could I buy one of these models, such as the Archer C80, configure it as a AP Controller and then connect my AX53s via EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul as satellite EasyMesh extenders? I.e The AX53s don't also require AP Controller support to connect to a device acting as an AP Controller?

My network topology is equivalent to topology 3 in your original post i.e a Gateway router, with the wireless APs connected via an ethernet switch, on the same subnet.
