Model: Archer BE800
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.6

Hi everyone,

I just finished building an OPNSense router (that has no WiFi capabilities).

I would like to use my custom router with my TPLink BE800 and BE550. I want the 2 tp link devices to give WiFi coverage and connect between themselves with the EasyMesh but I don't understand how to do that unless I set one of them as a router.

I don't want the main unit to create a second NAT. I want them all to just be APs.

The main unit (BE800) if ofc connected with a wire to the OPNSense router and the BE550 is only connected to power and should be connected to the BE800.

How do I do that?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

You will have to install this "pre-release" firmware https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/718786 on the BE800 to be able to achieve what you are trying to do.

Hi  @gur111,

As woozle said, you can try the pre-release firmware of Archer BE800, which supports to set easymesh network in AP mode. But you need to confirm that the BE800 in AP mode can work normally with OPNSense router first.
