Model: Archer GE800
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.3 Build 20240528 rel.85215(5553)

PPPoE cannot successful connect to ISP with custom settings

After login to the configuration page, goto Advanced->Network->Internet->Advanced Settings, at "DNS Address" selection choose "Use the Followwing DNS Addresses", input custom DNSs value and click safe. After reboot, the router fail to connect to ISP and establish inter connection.

If you revert back "DNS Address" selection to "Get Dynamically from ISP" then safe and reboot. The router can connect to ISP and establish internet connection.

This behavior is weird not suppose to be like that.

Confirmed ISP problem! TM Unifi start to block well known DNS (53/DoH/Dot) .

Refer below list:

Google = blocked

Cloudflare

1.1.1.1 = blocked

1.1.1.2 = blocked

Opendns

208.67.222.222 = blocked

Quad9

9.9.9.9 = blocked

Adguard

94.140.14.14 = blocked

  @Lipfeng

Hi

What DNS do you want to change? It is recommended that the WAN DNS and the router’s LAN are not in the same subnet, otherwise the router may not work properly.

Warm regards.

Thanks a lot for helping.

I want to replace with ad-guard DNS (94.140.14.14 and 94.140.15.15), there are not in the same subnet.

My router subnet is factory default setting 255.255.255.0

Hi

It is recommended that you consult your internet service provider to confirm whether they have restrictions on ad-guard DNS (94.140.14.14 and 94.140.15.15).
At the same time, you could test primary DNS 8.8.8.8 and secondary DNS 8.8.4.4.
