"Immediately after booting not getting connected ..
no adsl light- no pinging
tp link router status pvc0 to pvc 6 down
now activation initalize show time snr 2.1 pvc2 and pvc 4 down
now all up snr 3.2 adsl link light lit still no ping
now snr 6.1 some times getting connected
once connected snr is 10 and more keep connected continously then at random drops and again the loop starts"
This is the scenario of my tp link router.
I have spoken to my telephone man to check the line
I have installed the modem router replacing basic modem to have wifi
Is there any way to tweak the settings of the router to start on lower snr margin?
What could be the cause of this.

Have you tried to change the ADSL mode on TD-W8961ND to ADSL2, G.DMT or the others?




When you replace the modem with another modem, how about the snr margin?

Yes tried ADSL2+ also.My version is 3.Up graded the firmware also . I found it was iupgraded .But after firmware upgrade. reset the modem.but unable to enter the values error duplicate pvc.That is how it stands.
replaced with a basic modem working earlier and though it disconnects once in a while at least i have moderately stable connection.In order to have wifi i want tp link router to put to work.help is needed .thanks.

snr margin for the working modem 18.5 for down stream and 8 for upstream

Can you post the screenshot about the Device Info page(Status->Device Info) and System Log here?

Sorry for long absence.Meanwhile tinkering the modem able to connect.the log says call failed .have posted device info and log.Something amiss I could feel .please guide me further.


As Iam not sure how to attach the log copied and pasted

Maybe you can try all the ADSL mode one by one, then please check whether there is one is suitable for you. In addtion, the SNR indicates the line status, the 8961 performace not really good, but I think your line state is also not stable, just as you said that there is still disconnects even when you use the old modem.
