Model: Archer A6
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

So I purchased Archer A6 few days ago and I noticed that the speeds on 2.4Ghz are slow than that of 5Ghz.

Note that my broadband speed is 50Mbps.

The speed which I get on 2.4GHz is only 20-30Mbps but while on 5GHz it shows normal 50Mbps speed.

I tried changing the wireless channel  from 1-11 but still it's the same. My previous MI router which was 2.4GHz worked normally and showed 50Mbps while doing speedtest. What do I do now? Please help

Thank you for your reply!

The device which I use is OnePlus 6. I checked the link speed and it shows 72 Mbps.

I am sitting very close to the router and the link speed is still the same.

I changed the mode to 802.11g/n mixed and now it shows upto 40 Mbps in speedtest. The channel width is already 40mhz.

Thank you

May I know what are the devices that connect to the 2.4G network? Please show us the link speed on them, you can check it as this if it is a computer:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2265/
PS: what is the distance between the devices and the A6, are there walls between?

Please check that you have set the "Channel Width" in the router's 2.4GHz wireless settings to "40MHz", then verify that your client device actually supports dual-stream (2×2) and 40MHz channel width operation. To do this you need to check on the client device if it reports a connection speed of 300Mbps (or at least something between 200-300 Mbps). How you check that depends on the operating system of the client device. For example, on Android you will probably need to install an additional App to get the connection speed.

BTW, can you please also tell me the brand and model number of the adapter on it? You are suggested to update the driver of the wireless card on this PC first. If it is a phone, please also tell us the brand and model, thanks.

That sounds good. Please monitor the performance, and let me know if there is still an issue.

You are also suggested testing this 2.4G connectivity on another phone or laptop.
