Witam wszystkich.

Kupiłem router TP-LINK TL-WR902AC 3G LAN DualBand w maju 2020 roku. Wyłączyłem i włączyłem zasilanie (restart).

Hello All.

I bought Router TP-LINK TL-WR902AC 3G LAN DualBand on May 2020. It works as extender. I did backup of configuration. Everything was great utill yeaterday. Chromecast and smartphone would not connect to internet but wifi works. Power led on, internet led off, wifi led on. I did switch power off and on (restart). Same situation. I've restored backup - same situation with leds but Chromecast works (access to internet) and smartphone has not. Why? Why connection led is off. Any ideas?

BTW, Tether app detect the extender device but inform me that it is not compatible - on tplink's web page the device is listed as compatible. What is going on?

Hello,

It is suggested to check and ensure your host wireless network is still working properly first, ensure you have internet access when you connect the Chromecast and smartphone to it.

If the host network is working fine, then refer to the below guide to reset and reconfigure the WR902AC to work as a range extender:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1502/

May it help.

@Mikel1978

No, by host router, I mean your main router. I saw this WR902AC works as an extender, so there must be another router, we call it host router?

Thanks.

I did what you wrote. I set up the router as Access Point - cable from ISP I've put in to LAN/WAN port and leds power/internet/wifi are on. Access to internet works on laptop via wifi but I can't launch manage page of router (http://tplinkwifi.net). Strange.

Hello,

Just to confirm, is the network layout as below?

Cable from ISP==>(WAN) Archer C20i (LAN)==>(LAN) WR902AC

Is the WR902AC working as an Access Point? What is the IP address of it? You need to change its IP address to be in the same IP subnet as the main C20i, let's say, if the default IP address of your C20i is 192.168.0.1, you need to change the LAN IP address of the WR902AC to 192.168.1.2 or 192.168.1.250, etc. then you should be able to access its web management page.

Hope this makes sense.

Correct.

Correct

Additional info:

I've restored device to default settings. Once again I did configuration as extender via Qiuck Setup according to instruction what you gave.

Confoguration of extender is shown on screen shots.

Internet led is still off and internet connection is still anavailable :(

@Kevin_Z

Moreover, host (c20i) share DHCP. The extender has MAC 74:DA:88:B4:2D:61 but there is no extender on c20i DHCP Client list. It looks like the extender is not getting an IP address from the host - just why is that? I no set up MAC filtering (Wireless MAC Filtering: is disable) on c20i.

@Kevin_Z

I've changed the static IP to DHCP server on extender.

Now, the extender shows on DHCP client list on C20i and extender has access to internet (but internet led is off) and there no one device on extender DHCP client list (despite I've connected laptop and smartphone to the 2.4_ext wifi so the devices should be on extender DHCP client list).
