ISP : HOL

Hi everybody,

I am trying to configure the TL-WA501G in AP-client mode.
The broadband router is a Netfaster IAD with Gateway 192.168.2.1 (different to the default 192.168.1.1 of the AP)

I disable the wireless and connect the AP with the PC, having configured the TCP/IP v4 in
IP 192.168.1.2
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

I log in successfuly then at the AP interface in 192.168.1.1
I tred to change the IP address to 192.168.2.100 (so that there is the same gateway as the router). After reboot screen of the AP I am not able to connect
anymore to the AP new IP address (192.168.2.100).

Should both router and AP have the same subnet ? In that case, can I change the IP of the router to 192.168.1.1 without any problems ?
The DHCP server in the router is enabled (from 192.168.2.2 to 254).
Thanks

At this time, have you configured the TCP/IP v4 in
IP 192.168.2.2
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 ???
Then you can log in 192.168.2.100.

Then go to wireless security section, put in the same security password with your root router. Or go to quick setup.....to the end.

Hi Lambo,
thanks for the tip. Changed the TCP/IP v4 to :
IP 192.168.2.7
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
and logged in successfuly to AP at 192.168.2.100.
I entered the client mode, SSID, security and connected to my router (I can see the signal, data packages). However, there is no internet access.
I tried to enter the rooter gateway ip in both the PC's TCP/IP v4 settings and the AP's Network settings, but no luck.
Any clues ?

Hi Geosil

Please try this
TL-WA501G
IP : 192.168.2.2
Subnet : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.2.1

Kindly set your router and AP on the same channel (1,6 or 11)
Try without wifi security first, if it works then set the wifi security
on both router and AP.

Good luck
