Hi all,
I've a problem with my 854, the problem is that first of all I've to configure a stati IP in order to connect it to the router. But in the "connected devices" list of the router, the RE is not present, is that normal?
Moreover, I'm able to connect with RE through its IP address and I get this situation:

Why do the RE see no connection between the router and internet? Obviously the internet connection is working properly in the router.

Thanks in advance
Paolo

Paolo, did you ever figure this out? Mine has the exact same 2 problems. I'm going to try to upgrade the firmware, my 854 says version 1.1 but I will use the V1 firmware.
Is your 854 using a static IP set on the 854, or a reserved static IP issued by your router, or a dynamic IP issued by your router? Mine is static set by the 854 which may be why the router doesn't show it, it may only show DHCP IP addresses, not really "all connected clients".
I had a netgear router that showed all connected clients including my two 845 extenders even though they were client-static but my new router, an Archer AC1750 does not show it so I suspect it's a router issue.

This is apparently normal when you are using Static IP. I faced the same situation so I switched back to dynamic. If you want to use static IP and you are using TP-LINK Router use the IP Address Reservation under DHCP settings of the router. It works great and will give static IP using the DHCP server.

Btw, update the firmware just to cause less problems in the future.

I believe the internet access problem is happening because with dhcp, it automatically gets the dns servers and can check internet. But with static you need to set dns manually and there's no setting for that in the extender, so it's unable to determine the internet connection.

I propose enter in the main router DHCP->DHCP Settings some of DNS addresses for example 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 or DNS from your ISP.

I defined the DCHP in the repeater with IP address and DNS, now it is working even if the repeater shows a question mark between "main router" and "internet".

Thanks for helping me!
