Model: Archer MR505
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.13.1 Build 240205 Rel.59931n(4555)

Hello,

I recently purchased an MR505 and very quickly noticed some frequent "disconnections". The router tells me everything is fine, but no Internet traffic goes through.

After disabling every service I didn't need, I ended up troubleshooting the 4G connectivity through these 2 FAQ:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/3823/

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/3099/

I noticed that:

  • every time I lost connection, the router was in LTE+ mode, aggregating bands B20 and B3
  • when the connection is table, the router is in LTE mode, on band B20

When I tried to connect manually on band B3, the signal strength is poor compared to B20.

It looks like the router is able to enable aggregation, but is not able to detect when it doesn't really work anymore and to fall back into single band mode.

I've now configured it to manually use only band B20, but if this equipment had been bought by regular user, they probably would have returned it after a couple of days, complaining it doesn't work.

Is there something I can do to help improve the router firmware?
