Hi, thanks for posting question here.
The main Deco needs to be connected to the front-end modem/modem router via Ethernet cable.
Whether the speed performance will be the same as your modem depends on many aspects.
The two guides are for your reference:
1. How can I find a suitable spot for my Deco?
2. Troubleshooting Slow Internet Speed with Deco Devices

@Marvin_S , thanks.

If Deco nearest to fridge or Power Distribution Box , does it highly affect the Wi-Fi range of Deco? Less of 70% network speed.

Hi, according to your simple information, it is hard to say.
If you are put Decos like your described and that might make the performance not that good, why not adjust locations of Deco then check again?
It is also suggested to contact local technical support for direct help.
Best regards.

The connection between the Primary Deco device and the Telco modem (LAN Cable) had been in use for an extended period. The signal is a full bar, which can be read from the Deco App, regardless of whether it is configured to support a router or mesh.
However, the results that can be read from Ookla SpeedTest are nearly identical, with a reduction of 30% in same location area.
