Hi, thanks for posting question here.

For Wireless Backhaul, due to the working pattern and protocol/regulation of Wi-Fi technology, the more wireless hops, the slower the speed would be. So the satellite Deco could not get the same speed as the main Deco.

For Ethernet Backhaul, it does not make a big difference on all Deco units’ speeds.

For your confusion, here are some guides that may help a lot:

Slow speed on satellite Deco
Why is my satellite Deco unit not getting the same speed as the main Deco?

General questions about Ethernet Backhaul feature on your Deco

Best regards.

Does this imply that the speeds could be greater and more consistent than those of wireless when the principal Deco is connected to the second Deco via an Ethernet cable?

Deco placement that is primary.  Is it easier to achieve the same results by connecting an Ethernet cable to a telco modem within a 1 meter or more than 5 meter distance?
