Hi,

I have hooked up my X50 via Ethernet and getting speeds of 300-400mb throughout the whole house.

The problem is, when I plug my TV's in via Ethernet (to the 2nd and 3rd units - not the main) they both run at about 98mb. I unplug the Ethernet and via Wi-Fi they get 300mb plus.

I have tried prioritising these units via QoS, but that does not make a difference.

Are these units capped at 100mb via Ethernet or something? What am i missing.

Thanks

You should check hardware specs of your TVs. Most Smart TVs come with 100Mbps Ethernet port.

@Alexandre. I just checked, the speed of the Ethernet port is 1 Gbps.

I also have brand new Cat6 Ethernet cables.

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

As the problems seems strange, we may need to collect more information to fully understand your situation.

1. What is your exact network topology? How did you connect each Deco? Is any any switch among Decos? How about all Ethernet cables you are using?

2. Did you use router mode or access point mode?

3. Please use another Ethernet cable to connect TV to satellite Deco, and try different ports on Deco and TV.

4. Please connect your TV to the main Deco via Ethernet cable to test speed via www.speedtest.net.

5. Please share the screenshots of the speed result and link speed when your TV is connected to satellite Decos via Ethernet cable.

Best regards.

please see below.

1. Main Deco is connected to the router.

i am using Deco 2 and Deco 3 to connect to my TV's.

2. I have tried both modes and get the exact same speeds.

3. I have tried 3 different cables. All are fairly new CAT6 that are more than capable of 1gb speeds (my max internet speed).

4. I can't. The distance between my router and TV would require a 20m cable.

5. Unsure how to share screenshots, but wifi is running over 300mb and Ethernet is 97mb (connect to the 2nd Deco).

thanks for your help

I googled this model and it is very hard to find LAN port specs for it. I could not, even in User Manual and in technical sites. Can you make screenshot of a booklet page where it says gigabit and share it here?

The best I can find is TCL C845 User Manual reference to "Fast Ethernet," that means 100Mbps.

I would also suggest contact TV tech support and/or TV user forums with the question about LAN port speed. For 4K TVs 100Mbps is more than enough, only when TV  is 8K or 16K having gigabit Ethernet port could make the difference.

@Alexandre. Your right, it is only 100mb sorry.
I searched booklet online and was looking at the wrong model!
Thanks for your help.

Mystery solved. :)

One last advise: if for TV connection you can choose between wired and wireless - choose wired. Even with Ethernet port just 100Mbps and WiFi reaching 300Mbps. You will have more stable streaming when TV is using Ethernet.
