Model: Deco XE200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.6 build 20240723 rel. 9399

Why is there no option to change 2.4Ghz WiFi from 40MHz to 20MHz? There's a lot of interference on 2.4GHz and 40MHz is just compounding the issue for itself and everyone else! It's not usable with all those ping spikes from interference! There's no option to change to 20MHz?

Even disabling the 2.4GHz so TP-Link Deco doesn't become a interference burden for others, it's still broadcasting 2.4GHz on 40MHz via hidden SSID even when the satellites aren't connected via 2.4GHz Backhaul! It's literally a sabotage jammer for yourself and nearby neighbors unless you live in the middle of nowhere with no other 2.4GHz signal!

TP-Link, what are you doing? Please provide us some basic options!

  @BasicAsk

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

The channel selection is planned for Deco. Most WiFi 7 Deco models have added this feature. While for other models, there hasn't been an ETA yet.

Moreover, there are only 11 common-used channels, and even on 20MHz, the 2.4GHz WiFi band is still easily affected by other Bluetooth/Zigbee signals working on the same frequency. Currently, there is a beta firmware for Deco XE200 that has disabled the 2.4GHz backhaul and allows each satellite unit to use different 2.4Ghz channels for mobile devices. So if there were plenty of 2.4GHz devices, it is recommended to install the beta firmware here to see whether it helps improve the 2.4GHz stability:

Deco XE200_v1 1.2.5_build_20240229_Beta

1. Please be sure you have read the Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding.
2. How to manually update the firmware via web UI- How to Update the Firmware of Deco.

3. It could revert to the official 1.2.6 version directly via web UI.

Thanks a lot and best regards.
