Hi,

First of all, the 5 GHz seems to operate well. No issues. But as there are more and more smart devices who use 2,4 GHz, the 2,4 GHz wifi is still important.

I have bought two tp link capo 220 camara's. These only support 2,4 GHz.  Well it works terrible. When i stream both the camara's in one view in the Tapo app on my phone, the 2,4 GHz wifi totally collapse, doesnt matter if my phone is connected on the wifi (5Ghz) or 4g. The ping latency to 2,4Ghz devices goes up high to 400-600 ms. The camara stream isn't usefull anymore...

Sometimes one of the camara's will connect to a different deco, then the issue is even worse then, pinglatency goes over 3000 !! ms, and finaly connection drops, to all 2,4 Ghz clients. The system will recover when i stop the streams.

Opening a stream usinc VLC will work for one camara at a time, both the camara's will kill 2,4GHz also.

My setup:

router > main deco > netgear gigabit switch > two deco's and some lan connected devices.

Connection values in the camara's: 59 dBm and 42 dBm, so it's not a signal issue.

The bachaul is connected by LAN regarding information from the app.  But still backhaul ssid's are visable in a wifi scanner.

As TP Link sells all these products, i would assume it should work like a charm. But it's not. We tried also to connect different stuff to 2,4 GHz to see what happens, laptop, playstation, the 2,4 wifi will collapse. Reconfiguring the deco's won't make a difference, network optimalization won't help either its says network is perfect.

Please give me some advice to make it work. Or is de Deco M4 just not good for 2,4 GHz Wifi ?

regards,

Twan

Hi, I noticed there was already an ISP router. Did you set Deco into Access Point mode?

I wonder if live-steaming Tapo cameras haven't been activated, can you have a stable 2.4GHz network?

By the way, May I know how long you have had Deco units?

Wait for your reply and best regards.
