Adding a Second Router
Hey community,
I currently have a AX20 in the living room, and have a bad wifi area at the other end of the house.
I was thinking of putting that router in the deadzone as an access point, and getting an AX73 or something with decent wifi coverage for the living room. I want these to both utilize the Easymesh for wifi, but intend to have the AX20 connected with ethernet also.
With the AX73 being the main router, does the AX20 need to be connected to the LAN on that?Or can I run two seperate ethernets out of the ONT, as the ONT is the closest to the dead zone - gonna be a way easier option for running Ethernet cable.
Thanks

You may reconsider positioning of you router - details. This way you could achieve the best wireless coverage with only one device.
You can't have separate connections from the ONT unless both routers are in AP mode, but being in AP mode they can't build an Easymesh.
Best approach in this case would be AX73 as a main router and AX20 as a satellite router connected wirelessly as Easymesh satellite.

@terziyski thanks for your response. Looks like I may need to look at Powerline or Range Extenders also then, is using the AX20 as a satellite router any advantage to those options?
Not very tech savvy in this department, hopefully I don't sound as bad as I think I do

Putting a PLC adapters or REs usually is used when there's no cabling options.
Cable connection will give you the best bandwidth and stability.
In your case (AX20) can be connected to AX73 by cable only in AP mode which means no Easymesh can be used.
Even not in Easymesh your wireless devices will roam between the AX73 and the AX20.
If you connect the two routers wirelessly then you could use an Easymesh for seamless roaming.
Check the links in blue text color from my previus post for more details on these options.

@terziyski I'm just reading about building an EasyMesh network with Ethernet Backhaul, does this still allow seamless roaming on the same wifi network between the two routers? This would determine the model of second router I get, not sure if the AX73 supports Easymesh Ethernet backhaul yet, looks like AC20 does.
