Hey everyone,

I’ve been experiencing some connectivity issues with my TP-Link Archer C6U AC1200 Wireless MU-MIMO Gigabit Router when trying to connect it to my Intel Core i9 laptop. The connection seems unstable at times, and I’m struggling to pinpoint the cause.

Here are the issues I’ve noticed:

  1. Frequent Dropouts - The Wi-Fi signal drops intermittently, especially when I’m using the laptop in different rooms.
  2. Slow Speeds - Despite having a strong signal, internet speeds feel slow at times, even though my laptop should be able to handle fast connections.
  3. No Connection after Wake-up - After the laptop goes into sleep mode, I often have trouble reconnecting to the router.
  4. Router’s 5GHz Network - I notice the 5GHz network connection is weaker compared to the 2.4GHz band, even though the laptop supports the faster 5GHz connection.

I’ve tried basic troubleshooting like restarting both the router and laptop, updating the firmware, and adjusting settings, but no luck.

Anyone here with similar issues? Any advice on how to improve connectivity with the TP-Link Archer C6U and an Intel Core i9 laptop?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, sounds more like a software driver issue with the laptop than the router itself, if you could give more specific details as to what laptop it is then maybe can help abit more.
