Surfshark VPN stopped working with update
Hello!
Unfortunately, I had auto-update enabled on my router, and today the 1.1.1 version was installed on it.
My surfshark VPN was working just fine, and now it can't process any traffic no matter if it comes from the wired interface or wireless. I have an Apple TV that is connected through ethernet, and an Android TV via the wireless network, and both lose connectivity when I turn on the VPN. As soon as I turn off the VPN, they recover internet access, but of course with a local IP address.
Any help and/or suggestions would be appreciated. This was working well until the update today.
Thank you in advance!

Hi, it may be possible to revert your firmware manually, check out your support page for Archer BE550 V1 has firmware releases available.

@Muffinman Thank you very much! Will try that! I thought since this appears to be a major release, it wasn't possible to backout to a previous version.

@Muffinman I can confirm reverting is not possible now. I get an "upload error", so I will try what you're suggesting now.

@Muffinman I tried the factory reset, and the issue persists after redoing the configuration. So I guess I'm stuck until the issue is officially identified and a fix is released. This is sad.

sorry it didn`t work, I assume surfshark vpn profile with your subscription is the same and hasn`t changed, you could raise a ticket here and hopefully get you a fix sorted.
sometimes updates fixes alot of things but break others.

Hi,
I am not a Surfshark user, but I read on their website that they support WireGuard as well as OpenVPN. Have you already tested whether the problem happens with both?

@woozle Haven't done so, but will try. Normally I prefer to use Wireguard as it's a much faster protocol and was working just fine, but it's a good idea to test and see.

@woozle @Muffinman Ok, so I tested and even when some speedtest manage to run successfully )but slowly) with OpenVPN, the problem is pretty much the same. No connectivity to YouTube or any streaming apps whatsoever. So I guess it's safe to say this router software release has an issue that needs to be fixed.
