Hi there,

A couple issues/doubts:

First, I interested in buying a new x50 decoder to replace one of my beloved m4, which I think is saturated.
I want to connect said X50 as the main one, and leave the other M4 as a satellite.
I have a doubt if the WIFI 6 performance is altered by the mix of decoders and technology (wifi 5/6).

Does it affect the X50 performance in any way if I connect it as the main one?
They work on different bands/frequencies, I don't know if the performance of the x50 DECO is reduced or simply, one transmits in what it knows (wifi 6) and the other in something less, wifi 5.

The other issue:

Regarding portforwarding, I need to connect to a new NAS and I don't know how to open ports (now, with the decos M4).
The NAS is connected to a M4 satellite, wired to the main one, and this main, connected to the operator's router. Router Mode.
In the Deco´s app, I open the port of the device (its ip address and the port to open).
In the operator's router, I also open the same port, but I don't know what IP I have to put in particular. I put the IP assigned by the ISP to the main router, since the other Satellite deco M4 doesn't seem to have an IP (they are wired together).
But it doesn't work.

Any help to do it?

Thanks in advance

Hi, Welcome to the community.

Let's start with the port forwarding first:

You need to use the IPV4 address on the Deco M4 on the ISP router.

It is also suggested to check the WAN/Internet IP address on the ISP router to make sure it has a public address.

(If it is a public IP, the IP on the ISP router should be the same as what you got on this link:https://whatismyipaddress.com/)

By the way, since there is already an ISP router, have you tried to set Deco into Access Point mode? In this way, the NAT on the Deco Wi-Fi be disabled.

What’s the difference between Access Point mode and Router mode on the Deco?

------

Then Deco X50 would work well with Deco M5. When mobile devices connected to Deco X50, they could still enjoy the WiFi 6 features.

Would there be any specific reason that you prefer Deco X50?

Can different Deco models work together?

Wait for your reply and best regards.
