If this is a regular retail version of the router, then a successful reset should have cleared the existing password.

Can you please look at the serial number label of your AX3000 router (found at the bottom or the backside of the router) and report back the full "Model" description? (something like "Model: Archer ******(**)  Ver: *.*")

  @woozle I keep restting it then going to 192.168.0.1  then reset password then it says reset router and I never get any further.

If resetting the router doesn't work, then you can only return it to the shop and have it replaced.

Can you identify whether pressing the router's "Reset" button actually does anything? (i.e. all LEDs turn off and on momentarily and after that turn back on one by one)

Just powered on - got 4 solid lights.  Put in 192.168.0.1 then clicked forgot password and got message to reset. This just goes round and round with the same thing.

After reset lights 1 and 4 (red) were on with 2 and 3 off. There was no wifi network showing to connect to.

It looks like it'll go back (to Amazon) but I would fully expect  the same thing again with another one. THis was recommended by Computeractive magazine so thats why I chose it.

Getting a lot further after I discovered the buttons at the bottom of the app that looked greyed out actually worked.

Went through smart set up selecting PPPoE for plusnets type of connection.

It said it was creating my conn er cation but then failed.

Same 3 times.

A couple of comments for clarification.

If lights 2 and 3 turn off when you attempt to reset the router, then you must have pressed the "WPS/Wi-Fi" button.
The "Reset" button is the one below the "WPS/Wi-Fi" button. You have to use some kind of pointy tool to actually press it. (refer to picture below)

Furthermore, if you are able to see the settings of the Archer AX55 inside the Tether app, then this means you have already created a "Local Password" with the Tether app previously. This is the same Local Password as the one you were asked for in the screenshot you posted a few days ago. I hope you still remember this password in case you need it again in the future.

When you go through the Smart Setup and configure the PPPoE connection, then make sure you are entering the correct user credentials. I don't know about Plusnet, but some Internet providers use separate credentials for things like Customer Center login or PPPoE.
