All Clients ignoring Satellite unit!!!
Hi All
I've recently installed a Deco S7 AC1900 setup with two units. The main unit is connected to the Router via the supplied ethernet cable. Both of these are in an upstairs bedroom. The satellite unit is in the downstairs diningroom. I originally purchased these as the wi-fi in the dining room was poor, effecting the connection to my phone specifically. This improved immediately so I never really looked at the Deco app at all.
Since that time I have purchased and installed a Eufy video doorbell system together with a remote chime. These both seem to work OK. However the Eufy setup fails to consistantly link with my phone which is becomming annoying. As a result I have examined the Deco app more closely. I have discovered that ALL clients seem to be linking to the Main Deco unit in the bedroom. These being my Phone - The doorbell - the chime. The signal strength for the chime is good (it's plugged into a socket outside the bedroom). The strength for my phone in the diningroom is medium (presumably this is still better that the original direct signal from the router) BUT, the signal strength from the Doorbell is WEAK. This I presume is why I can't receive a consistant video link to my phone when someone calls at the door. Consequently the unit in the dining room is totally redundant!
There doesn't seem to be a way to FORCE the doorbell to recognise the dining room unit even thought I've amended the preferences within the app. Is there a solution to this issue? I've read that if BOTH units are connected via ethernet then the signals for each would ballance out, thereby improving the link to the doorbell. If that is the case what do I need to buy? Is there a simple sollution? I'm not wanting to run an ethernet cable from the bedroom to the dining room.
I would welcome anyone's thoughts on this. All of this stuff is new to me and it needs to be explained simply, Thanks
