Model: Deco X20   Deco M4
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have a home network of:
3x deco X20
3x deco M4r

Ziggo router. From this router cable to 5 port netgear switch.

from this switch the following 3 pieces X20 are wired.

- I have 1x X20 connected wired (KITCHEN) and is main. I have to see that this should be wired?

- in LIVING ROOM I have x20 which is wired. I have to see that this should be wired?
This connects to the x20 on the 1st floor BEDROOM 1. Why not wired and should be a transmitter to the GARAGE mentioned below

- now I have another x20 wired on the 1st floor. (BEDROOM 1) Unfortunately it only takes 2.4ghz/5ghz. The question here. How do I change that so that it takes the wired LAN connection?

Because the M4r were the old decos I have distributed them throughout the house:

- GARAGE: This is not wired but via 2.4ghz/5ghz. I would say that this should connect to LIVING ROOM (if my idea is correct that if this is wired the transmitter would be to the garage. Also ground floor

- OFFICE (1st floor) This is not wired but via 2.4ghz/5ghz
- BEDROOM 2 (1st floor). This is not wired but via 2.4 ghz/Ghz

Who can help me with this.

Are there any settings that I should set better?

Thanks. Let's focus first on wired Decos. Using Deco names from this screenshot, tell me how many Deco are wired to the switch and what are their names.

Also, do you have any other device wired to that switch and if not, can you find device such as laptop or PC that you can wire to switch for tests.

The wired connections are the X20’s

See drawing of the house ground floor / first floor.

Deco X20 devices:

- Ground floor: KEUKEN and WOONKAMER (with cable) and GARAGE (= no cable)

1st Floor:  SLAAPKAMER 1

M4 devices: (no cable)

- 1st floor KANTOOR GEORGE and SLAAPKAMER 2

at the moment no free ports on the switch.

what would you like to test?

maybe I can place temporaly place a bigger switch

Thanks for diagram, it helps.

You do not have it wired properly for all wired Deco to use Ethernet backhaul. More on this topic can be found here: General questions about Ethernet Backhaul feature on your Deco

You have two options:

1. Rewire Main Deco so that your diagram becomes like the following:

or

2. Switch Deco mesh to run in Access Point mode, where your current wiring should work. See Switching a Deco to Access Point (AP) Mode

You only need to choose one of these two options. Let me know which one and what was the end result. When all Satellite Deco wired to the switch report Ethernet backhaul, which means this problem is solved, I'll give you info on what to do with your M4R to make them connect where you want.
