Model: Archer AXE5400
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.2 Build 20240827 rel.68051(4555)

I need to config the openvpn in such a way that the client will be in the same subnet as the LAN. for example, the LAN is using 192.168.0.x, i want the client to be something 192.168.0.y. please do not challenge my request as there is a special need for this. this can be done on netgear nighthawk R7800 (TAP mode instead of TUN). however, seems i cannot make it work on this router (btw. initially i tried to post in router section and requested by forum to post here as the hardware has modem function).

Hi,

At present, only one single model in the Archer series of routers has received support for TAP mode. https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/637010

I suppose TAP mode is going to be added to some other models of the Archer series as well, but if and when is impossible to tell at this point.

@Winston_Scott8 thanks for the reply. yes, I can see only the AX55 has the capability. I am starting to think i should not have paid extra for less function and contemplating to exchange.
