Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.3 Build 20240628 rel.37017(4555)

My AX3000 router intermittently drops the internet connection (residential NBN via Optus) and recovers after a minute or so.  It has been reliably working since installation 6 months ago and only started doing this a few days ago.  The log shows "teardown and release"

There seems to be a long history of this occurring and a number of threads that chat about updating firmware or changing to a static IP address (the latter is not supported by Optus for residential users).

When I check for a firmware update, the latest is AX55(EU)_V1_1.2.6 (@ https://www.tp-link.com/au/support/download/archer-ax55/#Firmware), well behind what I have loaded via "check for updates" on the router.

I have swapped out the Cat6 cable between the router and the NBN device - the problem persists.

Is there another firmware version I should try?  Are there some specific configuration options that may resolve the problem?

Hi,

There are multiple factors that cause your internet connection to randomly disconnect. Please read possible solutions in the guide which may fix an internet unstable.

Especially when both the wired connection and wireless connection are unstable, here are some some suggestions for your reference:

  1. Disconnecting the TP-Link router from the front-end device (the piece of hardware supplied by your Internet company), then only connect your computer to the modem directly. If your computer cannot get a stable connection from your modem, it indicates the issue is on your modem or Internet Service.

2. If there is no problem with the modem, please try the following tips:

Hi  @MJC2712 ,

You can install the firmware on the global(en) website:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/archer-ax55/v1/#Firmware

Please note, do not change the location to your region.

Then you can refer here to upgrade firmware manually.

  @Datox_

Hi, it is suggested to share detailed information about your situation:

1. What is the model of your TP-Link router? What its hardware and firmware version?

2. What is your exact network topology?

3. What are the specific problem phenomena? Unstable connection? Wireless or wired or both?

4. If you find system log shows abnormal, please share here then we can check.

Thanks for your cooperation~
