Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 3.16.9

Hi, I didn't change any settings and now my mobile devices connect, but do not have a connection to the internet.

I am using the travel router as I entered in the thread details. I am using it to share a hotspot. So, connected to a wifi network (my own), and making a couple other hotspots.

My main computer is connected with ethernet to the travel router and the internet is just fine (as is the main wifi hotspot being connected to to share).

In the router's configuration page, under basic, the network map has a red circle with an x over the 'Internet' icon. I am guessing this should be a green checkmark.

I am wondering if it could be DHCP related, though I see an ip address assigned when I connect on a mobile device, but I see this in the warning log when I connect a device:

3 Nov 16 21:40:56 DHCP WARNING DHCPS:lease host name not found

I am sure there are more details I can add; just say so, and I will do!

Thanks!

 Hi @gozlertsde

May I know what operation mode of router you are using? If you want to set TL-WR902AC so that your wired clients and wireless clients can get the network at the same time, please select range extender mode for TL-WR902AC:

How to configure TL-WR902AC as Range Extender (new logo)

In addition, could you please send a screenshot of the relevant error message (red circle ×) here?  It will help us locate the problem.

Hello! Thanks for the reply!

I think I probably didn't explain my situation very well, or, I made a mistake!

The wifi source, is my own (let's call it hotspotA), but, I am using the share hotspot mode to create an entirely new wireless network, let's say hotspotB. As I use one for work, and one for personal. Thus, I am intentionally not using the extender mode

I will factory reset if need be, but I would like to solve it in case it were to happen again.

Here's a screenshot (and, as noted, internet via ethernet has no issues):

Thanks!

Hi  @gozlertsde

Sorry for late reply. Because you didn't include my account number when you replied to me, I didn't receive your message in time.

It seems that you want to use hotspot mode( also call 'WISP mode'), you can see the link below to select the right mode for your need:How to choose right mode

If you want to set it to different mode, it is better that you can reset the device:

Go to System Tools > Factory Defaults. Click Restore to reset all settings to the default values.

If there is any update, feel free to report it here.

  @Joseph-TP
Apologies! But no worries, I am not in a rush! : )

Oh, yes, I am using the WISP mode, so it comes back to my original question as to why mobile device do not receive internet, but connect okay to the hotspot.

Maybe I do require a factory reset after all (I have powered off and on the router, and all other network parts, to no avail); as maybe it is too complicated a fix! (thinking_emoi)

I can't think of anything else to add at this point.

Thanks kindly!

Hi  @gozlertsde

It is very likely that there is a problem with your configuration. I also think it is better to restore the router to factory mode and reconfigure it to simplify the problem. It is very likely that there is a problem with your configuration. Please use a pin to press and hold Reset (Hole) for 5 seconds to reset the router.
