Network of 2x Deco XE75 Pro; Ethernet Backhaul Running at 100mbps
Hi there!
I've just recently setup a new home network comprising an ISP-provided router running in modem mode, and two Deco XE75 Pros.
The ethernet topology is as such:
- Main Deco 1gbps <-> ISP Modem
- Main Deco 1gbps <-> Home NAS
- Main Deco 2.5gbps <-> Satellite Deco 2.5gbps
- Satellite Deco 1gbps <-> PC 1
- Satellite Deco 1gbps <-> PC 2
I am running into a problem where the link between the main & satellite decos appears to be running at a puny 100mbps.
I have verified this by running internet speed tests from both the main & satellite decos:
- Main Deco: 340mbps down, 30mbps up
- Satellite Deco: 90mbps down, 11mbps up
I need to fully investigate the cable used, but it has supported at least 1000mbps connections in the past, so it's known to be good.
Confusingly, when I initially setup ethernet backhaul, I was able to achieve > 100mbps transfer speeds, so I expected it to stay stable from there, but now I can't get anything faster than that.
Any advice for how to test and fix this issue? I would have expected that a product named "pro" would allow me (at the very least) to view the link speed between the two deco units somewhere. Sadly there aren't even activity lights on the actual ports themselves, which is the usual "backup method" for verifying link status and speed.
To be honest, this is quite frustrating. Seems that it's an issue that many have struggled with in recent history, and with the design ethos of the Deco app being "you shouldn't need to know or care about these details", I'm mostly just hoping that there's something that I've missed.
Cheers,
Steffan
