X50 Satellite Connecting to Router Further Away than Satellite
Hi Everyone,
I have just setup a Deco mesh system with the following components:
X50-DSL Router in hallway at front of house on ground floor
X50 Satellite 1 - Living room at back of house on ground floor, one wall from hallway.
X50 Satellite 2 - Bedroom at rear of house on first floor, ceiling separating it from Satellite 1, ceiling and 1 wall separating it from router.
The X50 Satellite 2 in the bedroom has connected to the router, which is physically further away from it than Satellite 1. Also there is the ceiling and one wall between it and the router. Whereas there is only the ceiling for Satellite 1
Is there something I need to do to get Satellite 2 to connect to Satellite 1?
I can't believe it is optimal for Satellite 2 to connect to the router as it's further away with more physical barriers.
Any help on this issue would be appreciated.
Edit: I can see there is the option to manually set the connection preference so I connected Satellite 2 to Satellite 1 and the signal strength is actually marginally weaker. So looks like Satellite 2 to Router is more optimal. I'm guessing there are other variables at play I hadn't considered. Maybe some interference near Satellite 1. So I don't think there is an issue how the system is auto connecting/choosing the preferred node.
Thanks,
Andy
