using the deco app causing deco to disconnect and restart

As per the subject, when using the deco, my unit disconnects then restarts. This can be caused by refreshing the deco list panel, viewing, or editing the deco's connection preference on the app

Hi, welcome to the community.
Could you please try to install the latest beta firmware here to see whether it helped with the current issue:
Satellite Deco Units Work Well but Display Offline on the Deco APP
By the way, May I know how many online clients are connected to Deco Mesh?
How many of them are smart IOT devices?
Are the satellite Deco X50 units wirelessly connected together to establish a Mesh network?
Thank you very much and best regards.

@RobertAN Hi, I have the same issue. Using the Deco App on IOS will cause the main router (X50 1.2 connected to the internet) to reboot.

@Orm53 @David-TP I have the same issue. I mentioned this a long time ago already. The app is basically unusable.
Symptoms:
- when opening app on iOS (newest version) I see that my cliënts are all having the wrong name. This is an old issue that never is resolved;
- because my clients are all having weird or wrong names, or are displayed offline whereas they are not, I refresh the cliënt list by dragging down to refresh.
- BAM! app says that decos are offline and crashes.
- my family is shouting that wifi is disconnected.
- after a while wifi is back on
- app shows clients as it should.
- when I close the app, and wait for about an hour and open it again then all the circus is starting all over again.
i have 4 decos X50 v1 (EU) connected as router. I am on 1.6.1. Newest iOS app.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.
For Deco X50_V1.2_1.4.5, please install the beta firmware here to see whether it helped:
Deco APP Frequently Showing "0 Online Clients"
Using the Deco App on IOS will cause the main router (X50 1.2 connected to the internet) to reboot.
---Did you mean that, after logging into the Deco APP, the Deco APP reported "No internet connection" and asked you to restart Deco?
-Or Once you open the Deco APP, Deco X50 automatically restart itself (like lights turn from solid green-yellow-red-green)?
Nice to see you again. It is also recommended to install the latest 1.6.4 beta firmware here for Deco X50_V1 first:
Deco APP Frequently Showing "0 Online Clients"
Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP Hi, I am not installing BETA software as I rely on my network for homeworking and this issue is avoidable.
The reboot (goes from Green to Red to Yellow to Green) is caused by going into the IOS App, looking at the Client list, and refreshing the list. I have to refresh as the CLient list does not show all connected devices correctly.

@David-TP dear David,
Thank you for taking the time to react.
I open the Deco app. I see that the device that is the top device of the client list in the app ("iPhone of Jan (ME)"), which is normally displayed and is the device that is managing the Deco app the current time, suddenly has another name ("Samsung Galaxy") and has another IP address than my iPhone. So it displays "Samsung Galaxy (ME)" Also, some other clients are having different names, or ar showing offline. The iOT network (which has 10 devices in it) shows only 2. It is mess, basically.
I decide to refresh the client list, by swiping down, so the list gets refreshed. I try that once, but nothing changes. I wait a bit. Nothing changes. I decide to refresh another time, and BAM! Deco X50 becomes irresponsive. The Deco is showing all nodes as Offline in the app. Clients are all gone. The leds on the deco's are still on an behave normal.
Wifi gets disconnected, and after several minutes, wifi is connected again. When I then refresh the app, all clients and their statusses get "refreshed". And after that moment they show their good and real names and statusses, including the iOT network. For a while that is.., because if I wait a couple of hours the issue is back.
Your suggestion to install 1.6.4 pre-released firmware, is something that I am not gonna do. Users have done that and it was not good. -> https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/736386 I cannot risk a bricked DECO when I depend on my internet this much.
Other than that, I cannot and will not be a beta tester for TP-Link when the firmware is constantly this buggy; not only for beta firmware but also for production versions, all are extremeley buggy and not to be trusted unfortunately.
When I do not open the Deco app, all is working fine. So I have internet. But, I cannot manage my network, cannot see who joined my network and who not, because of the false client list and offline list that is actually online. And because of the crashes in the app and deco.
I bought the Deco X50 1,5 year ago, and the first firmware release (1.3) was fine. After that, it became a mess. Now I have a router that I cannot manage, for more than a year, causing security risks that I might not know off, I do not dare to install firmware updates at all lately. It is not good.
By the way: Client Identification ON or OFF does not really make a difference, other than that some devices have now sometimes an entry filled in the field "Operating System" like "iOS". is filled out when a device is an iPhone. But, more than desired, the fields are emty.
