Moderator Note:
1. The availability of EasyMesh in AP Mode may vary by region even for the same model. Please check your local website for more information.
2. The above list might not include all models and hardware versions. It is recommended to keep watching the firmware releases for your router, as all the newly supported features will be listed in the patch notes if/when it is added to your version.
User Scenarios:
Some users would prefer to, or are limited by their devices to, have their main modem router acting as the gateway and DHCP server in the network, which requires using the TP-Link Wi-Fi router in AP (Access Point) Mode to avoid the double-NAT issue. However, they also wish to utilize the EasyMesh feature of the TP-Link Wi-Fi router to create a mesh network with other EasyMesh routers or extenders.
The topology is roughly as follows (Topo 1):
Or as this one (Topo 2):
Note: In this topo, both the EasyMesh Wi-Fi router and the satellite router/extender must support EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul.
You may also connect the EasyMesh Wi-Fi routers like below, it will also work (Topo 3):
Note: In this topo, the EasyMesh Wi-Fi router and the satellite router/extender must also support EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul.

Hello Kevin,
I read through the thread, and I don't think I have seen my "use case" mentionned anywhere. If it was, my apologies in advance.
When is TOPO1 (in the initial post) going to be available for an AX73V1 in AP mode "easymeshing" with a RE605X V3 extender?

I'm waiting for AX53 firmware update.
Let me ask one little thing: if the problem is double NAT, why not just disable NAT? Sure, the user mus use valid IPs for internal network. Create an alert message, suggest to turn off DHCP and go ahead. Maybe sounds like an oversimplification, but works.
For sure, I don't know how many features are attached with NAT by code. Maybe this will be the case.

I am also surprised by the activity of this function in access point mode, which contradicts logic

My scenario is that I need to use a dedicated hardware as router/firewall. I'm using PFSense here. The ideal solution is using my AX53 as main wifi router managing others using Easy Mesh. The WPA3-Enterprise authentication will be welcomed.
Today, I using just the LAN ports of my AX53 with no DHCP to avoid double NAT and redirect all traffic to my PFSense router. It's a simple solution, but if was possible to deactivated NAT, probably all AX53 will be more useful.
