Model: Deco XE200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.6

I can clearly see all hostnames of my connected devices, and I have a Linux machine running Samba, but when I try to reach that share using the hostname, Deco can't find it. It can only find it via the IP.

How can I get the Deco to translate hostnames to IP?

  @eobet

Hi, welcome to the community.

Deco doesn't support resolving the local hostname to the IP address directly. However, if you wish to reach the local server via hostnames, it doesn't have to require a router to translate the IPs. As long as both clients support Multicast DNS discovery, the Linux server can be accessed via "hostname.local".

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP that's not very good for a device as expensive as this.

I have EndeavourOS installed on one machine and just tried to servername.local shortcut from my Windows 10 machine and it just popped up a web browser saying it could not find it.
