Model: Archer C80
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.13.2 Build 230824 Rel.75032n(4555)

I have a primary Network (192.168.0.1/24) with a different Router and a Raspberry Pi with Pi-Hole (DHCP & DNS enabled).

The Archer C80 is connected by LAN (WAN) and spans a subnetwork (192.168.1.1/24) and is in Router Mode not in Accesspoint Mode. Therefore, the DHCP server is enabled as well. Afterwards there are two Extenders for Meshing ( RE230 ) in the network.

My Archer C80 keeps "spamming" DNS requests to amazon.com and wikipedia.org

I found this thread, that had a similar problem: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/511910

So I set my Archer to a static IP in the 192.168.0.1/24 network and to be sure I set each of the RE230 devices to a static IP in the 192.168.1.1/24 subnetwork.

The request to amazon.com & wikipedia.orh still persist, and this solution did not work for me.

Did anyone have this phenomenon or know how to counteract it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

These requests are intended to check if the router has an internet access. You can't avoid these checks as the device is in router mode and that's implemented into its FW.

Not sure how accurate this is because shouldn't the router then logically show no internet connection, when I'm blocking these two domains with my pi-hole?

I'm blocking them and the router does show internet connection.

Also I'd say, that it is unneccessary frequent, how often it checks both domains.

I might be wrong though.

I've seen users reporting DNS queries for several domains including those you mentioned.

How often are these checks depends on the FW implementation.
