Solution Unstable LTE Connection with Archer MR500 and MR550
This Article Applies to:
Archer MR500(EU) V1, Archer MR550(EU) V1
Phenomenon Description:
Some users have encountered internet dropouts with the Archer MR500 and MR550 routers after a certain period of normal operation. When attempting to log into the web page, an error message is displayed, indicating that the internet is not connected. Temporary resolution can be achieved by rebooting the router, but the issue might happen again after a while.
Workaround:
If you encounter similar issues, we recommend trying the following beta firmware and monitor if the internet will be more stable.
Archer MR500: Archer_MR500(EU)_V1_1.7.0_Build_20231122
Archer MR550: Archer_MR550(EU)_V1_1.5.0_Build_20230828
Note: Please be sure you have read the Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding.
Further Troubleshooting Suggestions:
If the problem still exists after installing the above beta firmware, please provide the following information for further troubleshooting:
1. When the issue happens again, please login the web interface, share with us screenshots of Advanced->Status page, Advanced->Network->Internet page.
2. When the issue happens again, please go to Advanced->System Tools->System Log page and save a log file(don't restart the router, or previous logs will be cleared)
3. Detailed description of the issue and let us know how often it happens.

It's really weak that I don't get an answer. TP-Link sell a product which is not working, take money from customers for it and don't even tell us if there will be a solution in the near future. Really weak...

Same problem here:
Purchased on 3rd August a MR550 using Fastweb 4G sim card and I have same issue of other guys here: Internet disconnection without any alternative to reboot. This happens randomly several times per day too
Can you please support?
I didn't try with a beta firmware yet. Which I should download?
Thanks
Marco

@Sunshine I've bought new MR550 from Amazon at 26 August 2024
It doesn't work from new. I looked through this thread, updated firmware..... No luck. Disconnections.
What I can see problem is:
Router DHCP server isn't working. I have only 23 TP Link smart devices on this router and router is able to identify exactly 10 (random) devices. A hour later router picks up another 10. But never can recognize on app more than 20 of them even all 23 are functioning.
Router is starting failing this way: DHCP server fails and disconnects WiFi user. However router is still connected to 4G and accessible via Tether App.
Cut story short: if on Wi-Fi I have 2-3 users , then router is stable.
If I have more than 5 users - DHCP crashes and later router all together loosing 4g connection
It is not hardware fault. If I create Guest account then Router is OK with 5+ users on main and guest account. As soon as traffic increases, software fails.
Router handles 1-2 users 5-6 Mbps. But 3 users using Windows will crash DHCP and later 4G
It seems software is faulty. I agree with other users observations that router cannot handle 4G 20+ MBps WiFi traffic if it has 5 or more WiFi users.
In my case it crashes when I try to Watch any 2K TP-Link CCTV camera or download footage.

@Sunshine I see there is a new Firmware released on 2024-08-30 Archer MR500(EU)_V1_240507 Does this now supersede the Beta Firmware Archer_MR500(EU)_V1_1.7.0_Build_20231122 and has anyone got any experience of using this? Does this fix the problems discussed on this thread?
My ArcherMR500 is pretty stable using the Beta firmware so I am reluctant to upgrade in case it makes things worse.

Transferring PasaLoad from Smart to TNT is quick and easy because Smart and TNT are part of the same network. Here’s a simple guide to help you transfer from a Smart number to a TNT number:
Steps to Transfer PasaLoad:
- Open your SMS app on your Smart phone.
- Compose a new message with the format:
- Send the message to 808.
Important Notes:
- The recipient's number (TNT) should be in 10-digit format (e.g., 0912xxxxxxx).
- You can transfer amounts ranging from ₱1 to ₱100 per transaction.
- There may be a ₱1 service fee for each transaction, so make sure you have enough balance.
- Both the sender and the receiver must be using prepaid accounts.
That's all! The recipient should receive the load almost instantly after the transaction.https://simcardregistration.ph/

I just got the Archer MR500 and it seems to drop the connection often + the admin UI gets unusably slow/stops responding completely shortly after rebooting it.
Since this thread is so old and there are no official firmware releases - I assume this router is trash?
I left it in a cabin thinking it would be at least as stable as my Nighthawk M1 which has had zero dropouts for 4 years straight... now I cannot access it in any way and the next time I go there I assume I'll have to return it.
Could someone please tell me how this can be such an old issue with no fix?

@_aron_ The only fix seems to be to set it to reboot daily. The issue seems to be dependent on which carrier you use. I use Vodafone UK and it seems to be fine for about 3 days usually, after which it slows to a crawl and eventually dies. Since I set it to reboot early every morning, I haven't had issues.
I agree that this isn't acceptable, but for me I can cope. It has rather tainted my opinion of TP-Link and I'm now very wary of spending any more money on their products.
