Solution Unstable LTE Connection with Archer MR500 and MR550
This Article Applies to:
Archer MR500(EU) V1, Archer MR550(EU) V1
Phenomenon Description:
Some users have encountered internet dropouts with the Archer MR500 and MR550 routers after a certain period of normal operation. When attempting to log into the web page, an error message is displayed, indicating that the internet is not connected. Temporary resolution can be achieved by rebooting the router, but the issue might happen again after a while.
Workaround:
If you encounter similar issues, we recommend trying the following beta firmware and monitor if the internet will be more stable.
Archer MR500: Archer_MR500(EU)_V1_1.7.0_Build_20231122
Archer MR550: Archer_MR550(EU)_V1_1.5.0_Build_20230828
Note: Please be sure you have read the Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding.
Further Troubleshooting Suggestions:
If the problem still exists after installing the above beta firmware, please provide the following information for further troubleshooting:
1. When the issue happens again, please login the web interface, share with us screenshots of Advanced->Status page, Advanced->Network->Internet page.
2. When the issue happens again, please go to Advanced->System Tools->System Log page and save a log file(don't restart the router, or previous logs will be cleared)
3. Detailed description of the issue and let us know how often it happens.

Hi, do you mean you've tried three Archer MR500 V1 with Tele2 SIM card, all of them have frequent LTE disconnecting issue every a few hours?
You've already tried the beta firmware provided in this thread, right? please let me know your current firmware version.
In addition, did you test the same Tele2 SIM card on other different 4G devices at same location? such as smartphone or other 4G routers. If not, please test and monitor for some time in case the SIM card or ISP has any issue in the area.
If the issue happens only with the MR500, please share with us a system log file after the issue happens(before rebooting it, or previous logs will be cleared.)

@Sunshine Yes, i have tried three MR500 with Tele2 and they all have the same issue.
I have tried beta firmware without success. Currently running 1.5.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 230625 Rel.65051n.
i also have Tele2 for my mobile phone and it works without any problem. Tried my sim card from phone in to router and had the same issue. It only happens with MR500.

Hi, thank you very much for the reply.
You are using official firmware now but not the latest one, please update to the latest official firmware: Archer MR500(EU)_V1_1.6.0 Build 231016 to see if it is still the same:
Firmware Download for Archer MR500 V1
If it is still the same, I will escalate your case to our senior engineer for debugging.

Hi Sunshine,
I have this problem too. I have switched to 1.7.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 231122 Rel.61263n_Beta
Is this the best firmware to use? The problem still persists. Can you tell anything from my logs?
Thanks!

Root cause of the LTE disconnecting cannot be seen via the system log, please let us know if the same SIM card works stable on other 4G devices at the same location, who your ISP is, and also how often it happens now.
When the issue happens again, please login to the web interface, share with us screenshots of Advanced->Status page, and Advanced->Network->Internet page.
After that, we will escalate your case to our senior engineer for further debugging.
