Hi,

In wireless range extender mode (which is apparently what you are currently using) the Ethernet port of basically any RE*** model from TP-Link will function as a LAN port.

What happens when you connect a client device to the RE655's Ethernet port? Is that client device not being assigned an IP address?

By the way, what kind of device are the two "Archer AS600"? I can't find any info on that model.

First, I apologise for the error in giving the right name of the two routers I use. They are TP-Link Archer AX6000, not AS6000 as I wrote incorrectly.

Second, I haven't tried what you ask for, and will do that. I'll get back with results on that test.

What works for sure is this configuration, that I have today:

Internet -> Fiber modem -> Archer AX600 -> Ethernet cable ->  Archer AX600 -> WiFi -> Garage devices

Thanks for the correction.

But note that if you have this setup now

Internet -> Fiber modem -> Archer AX6000 -> Ethernet cable ->  Archer AX6000 -> WiFi -> Garage devices

and are going to change it to this

Internet -> Fiber modem -> Archer AX6000 -> WiFi -> RE655 -> Ethernet cable ->  Archer AX6000 -> WiFi -> Garage devices

then the attainable network speed between the two Archer AX6000 will be decreased substantially.

Sorry for having forgot to reply my solution to this thread, that I found to be working.

I wanted the below configuration:

Internet -> Fiber modem ->Router 1 -> WiFi -> RE655 -> Ethernet cable -> Switch -> Ethernet cable ->  Router 2 -> WiFi -> Garage devices

It works just fine as long as I configure Router 2 as an Access Point, and not as a Wireless Router, using the app Tether to configure my routers and extenders.
