Hi folks,

I'm using an MR-6400 V5.3 and was wondering if someone has stumbled upon the same problem: when the router is rebooted the IPsec-Connection does not automatically reconnect, you have to enter the gui and disable/enable the connection to go up. In a branchoffice this is a big problem after a power-failure.
Is there any chance of changing this behaviour?

kind regards,

Wolfgang

  @Woppy

Hi, please try to enable Dead Peer Detection on Advanced->VPN->IPSec VPN to see if it solves the problem.

  @Sunshine

Unfortunately that didnt help. But i dug a little deeper: this 6400 connects to a Fortigate VM as IPsec-Server, i watched the log while the 6400 booted and saw the tunnel come up for a second or two, a ping to the remote network worked twice, then failed again. Fortigate does not show tunnel going down, the 6400 says "down". So i'm afraid this behaviour occurs in this special combination 6400/Fortigate.
After disabling/enabling the tunnel on the 6400-side it comes up fine and stays up. Maybe something going to quick during startup.. who knows.
I guess i'll have to live with that.

But thanks anyways for the hint!
