MR600 v3 - Switzerland - 4G+ on and off
Hi,
The 4G+ LED on my MR600 v3 regularly switches between on and off.
Network Mode is 4G Only. Selected Manual Bands are 3 and 20 (Sunrise - Switzerland). ISP settings shd be correct and current (ISP File 23021501).
DL and UL speed varies considerably (despite 100% signal strength), e.g. some 65 Mbps DL / 36Mbps UL initially (at 20:50h) and 20Mbps DL / 33 Mbps UL some hours later (00:34h), then 47Mbps DL and 32Mbps UL (00:43h).
System Log also shows constant switching between LTE and LTE Plus, e.g. as follows:
3 | 2023-03-25 00:43:45 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE. |
4 | 2023-03-25 00:43:11 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE PLUS. |
5 | 2023-03-25 00:43:11 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE. |
6 | 2023-03-25 00:43:10 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE PLUS. |
7 | 2023-03-25 00:43:09 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE. |
8 | 2023-03-25 00:43:08 | 4G | Information | USER: Network type is LTE PLUS. |
Is there a way to get more stable DL/UL speeds / force 4G+?
Thanks,
Gerald

@Sunshine It is funny that this is marked as solved, when it is not... Very frustrating...

Hi.
the truth is that the router never had a problem....
It's running stable with CA on only when needed
The only problem was the carrier because it's listed in official website to run the bands 1 3 and 7 but here locally the 7 band is replaced with band 20
So every time that the router used band number 7 it stuck because of the empty response (I guess)
Since I replaced band 7 with band 20 everything is running smoothly
Meaning: in band selection I ticked 1+3+20 instead 1+3+7and left it as it is and that's all !

The "truth" is a strong statement... In particular, I understand that this was your very first post (at least under this User Name), and it is entirely unclear where you are based, what version of the MR600 and what FW version you use, who is your ISP etc. Not very helpful.
If you have read the various reports by other users, the problem did not seem to exist on V2 with FW 1.6.xxx, and started to appear with a FW Update for V2, and with V3 with its initial (and currently only official) FW. Also, not sure what the purpose of the Automatic band selection then shd be, why to select 3 bands (and how does the MR600 then decide which of the bands to use for Cat 6 CA) etc....
Am still waiting for a solution from TPL...

Can someone check if the latest firmware version (MR600(EU)_V3_220727) fixes this issue?

Thanks for flaging that there seems to be a new FW (even though the FW dated 2022?!). I will try it out when back next week and revert.
FYI only: my understanding of an email I received from TP Support Team in Asia is that they have given up (at least with regard to getting an updated modem FW incorporated (Snapdragon X12 from Qualcomm / Quectel)....

I have now installed FW 1.1.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 220727 Rel.74013n, but the problem of constantly (every 1-3 seconds) switching between 4G and 4G+ persists...
I have seen the private email from Maxwell of the TP-Link team re Qualcomm's response (also blaming the ISP/Carrier). However, I have still not received an answer to my question as to what specifically I shd ask the ISP/Carrier/Tower Operator to do (I have been asking for some guidance for some time). Would appreciate a response.
Thanks

Hi, I've tried to talk with the senior engineer, I am afraid you could only explain the phenomenon and analysis of the MR600 4G+ issue to the ISP, Based on previous debug log analysis, the device is functioning normally and the issue is related to the ISP or the base station.
By the way, since this kind of issue was reported by other users as well on this community, if ISP cannot help or confirm the issue. to follow up this kind of issue, XiaoMi phone will be needed for comparison because we found the way to capture modem logs on XiaoMi phone.
Your understanding will be highly appreciated!
