Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.6.5 Build 20230110 Rel. 41561

I have set up my Deco M5 as AP with the set up below:

Main Router (192.168.1.254)  ---> Deco M5 Master (Smart DHCP off) --> Deco M5 (Slave)

                                                                                                                |-> Deco M5 (Slave)

                                                                                                                |-> Other clients

Issues:

The M5 deco will issue an ip to client with the default router / gateway ip of 192.168.1.1 and causes no internet access. The expected default gateway is 192.168.1.254.

Workaround:

1. Client device forgets the network and reconnect the wifi.

2. Fixed the client default gate to 192.168.1.254.

Both Workaround is pretty annoying and there are some client devices are CCTV which are hardly reset the wifi network.

Please address this issue and provide solution ASAP.

  @Bond0102

Your router configuration is uncommon. Not wrong, but uncommon. Usually, router has 192.168.*.1 LAN IP address.

You may have found bug in Deco code, either handling unusual default gateway or with "Smart DHCP off" feature. I would suggest the following workaround: configure router with 192.168.1.1 LAN IP address, thus making 192.168.1.1 default gateway.
