New Samsung A53 can't connect stable to Wifi on Deco X60, connection keeps dropping
I bought a replacement phone for my Samsung Galaxy S8, the new Galaxy A53 5G. Already out of the box performing the installation I couldn't get a connection to my Wifi Mesh network (Deco X60). Once in a while it did actually connect but not for long and when disconnected it often coulnd't reconnect again. After being very patient I finally made it through the whole setup process, but the connections still dropped.
On my S8 (still works fine apart from battery life) I have no problems at all. Also my wife's phone (S9) and my 4 daughters (S8 and 3 diffferent Iphones) experience no problems with the wifi whatsoever. All the other objects (Smart-tv, e-reader, Chromecasts, etc) work fine as do my work-laptop and my wife's. We've got the Deco X60 Mesh network running since august 2021.
Of course I tried to find out what it could be, so I ran a lot of tests, trying ever 'switch' in the settings. Because I thought my new phone was the problem I even reset it to factory default and reran the whole setup again, but still the same problem. Eventually I set up a second wifi-network with my old router and to my surprise I had no problems connecting to that wifi at all. The new A53 isn't the problem, its wifi works fine and fast (run several tests) but the connection to my Deco X60 is the problem.
I've posted this same problem on the Samsung Members forum, and a guy told me to post my problem here for he has had the exact same problem and an alternative Firmware version was the solution for him. So hopefully it will work for me to. Where can I get such alternative firmware?

Nope, Android 13 didn't fix it for me. For a while it looked like it was fixed but soon the same problems started again.

Hi,
I have the similar issues but have a different setup
2 x Deco XE75 Pro
2 x Samsung A32 5G
My other 20+ devices can reach 300-500 Mbps while the 2 Samsung phones can only get 30 Mbps from 5 feet away of a Deco and barely any signal from 30 feet away.
I had an old Range Extender (RE650) and placed it 30 feet away from the Deco, then connected the A32 to the RE650's 5GHz. Speed test results to 150-200 Mbps.
From what I read here and the tests I made, it seems that Samsung's AXX models does not like Mesh WiFi.
Can TP-Link do their own test and work with Samsung on this issue?
Thanks and hope to get this issue resolved soon.

@Sinamar Hi, welcome to the community.
"My other 20+ devices can reach 300-500 Mbps while the 2 Samsung phones can only get 30 Mbps from 5 feet away from a Deco and barely any signal from 30 feet away. "
Have you checked whether the 2*Samsung phones are connected to 2.4ghz or 5ghz of Deco XE75 pro?
Could you please help me check the link speed on the Samsung phone when it is connected to Deco XE75 pro:https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2265/ ?
By the way, since the previous comments are about connection stability, have you noticed any drop-out on the A32 5G?
Wait for your reply.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Hi @David-TP, thanks for the welcome!
Both are connected to 5GHz since I turned off 2.4GHz (still had similar speeds when 2.4GHz was on)
Link Speed + Speed test @ 5 feet away
A32 5G - 390 Mbps with speed test of 30 Mbps
For comparison:
Laptop - 1.6 Gbps with speed test of 730 Mbps
Galaxy S8 - 438 Mbps with speed test of 580 Mbps
iPhone XR - speed test of 590 Mbps
Drop-out happens when it's 30+ feet away, also the A32 5G does not seem to roam automatically.
For troubleshooting A32 5G, I did most of the tips said online like:
1. On/Off Airplane mode
2. Forget Network
3. Assign Static IP
4. Phone Mac
5. Reset Network Settings
6. On router - reserve address, disable mesh, prioritize device
None of them improved the speed.
Hope this helps.

Hello @David-TP,
Some additional info for reference.
My previous network setup: Archer C5400 (Living Room) - RE650 (Hallway) - Bedroom (30 ft away from RE)
Speed test on A32 5G @ Bedroom connecting to RE650 was 150-200 Mbps
Speed test on A32 5G @ Living Room connecting to Archer C5400 was 300-500 Mbps
Since we have a lot of devices connecting to the RE and it gets bogged down with all the client requests, I opted to upgrade and got a pair of Deco. So I just replaced those network devices with Deco.
Current network setup: Deco 1 (Living Room) - Deco 2 (Hallway) - Bedroom (30 ft away from Deco 2)
Speed test on A32 5G @ Bedroom connecting to Deco 2 was 0-30 Mbps
From my first post, I plugged in my old RE at my bedroom to do some further testing
Test network setup: Deco 1 (Living Room) - Deco 2 (Hallway) - RE650 (Bedroom)
Speed test on A32 5G @ Bedroom connecting to RE650 was 150-200 Mbps
With these tests, I think it's either A32 5G does not work well with Mesh WiFi or Deco is unable to deliver good WiFi to Samsung AXX models.

@Sinamar Thanks a lot for the update. I would like to forward your case to the senior engineers. Please check whether you have got an email from me.
By the way, there are some details I hope you could help me double-check:
1. Is the Hallway Deco XE75 pro wirelessly connected to the living room Deco XE75 pro?
2. As for the speed test results here, Are they all connected to the main living room Deco, including A32 5G?
Link Speed + Speed test @ 5 feet away
A32 5G - 390 Mbps with a speed test of 30 Mbps
For comparison:
Laptop - 1.6 Gbps with speed test of 730 Mbps
Galaxy S8 - 438 Mbps with speed test of 580 Mbps---I believe it is link speed 580m/s with a speed test of 438m/s?
iPhone XR - speed test of 590 Mbps
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Hi @David-TP
I got the email. Thanks!
Here's my reply:
1. Is the Hallway Deco XE75 pro wirelessly connected to the living room Deco XE75 pro?
Yes, Hallway Deco is wirelessly connected to Living Room Deco.
2. As for the speed test results here, Are they all connected to the main living room Deco, including A32 5G?
All were connected to Hallway Deco including A32 5G.
I believe it is link speed 580m/s with a speed test of 438m/s?
This was the link speed I saw on Samsung Galaxy S8: 438 Mbps Link Speed and speed test results to 580 Mbps. I can redo all the test using the Living Room Deco.

Hi,
I'm another x60 / Samsung A53 disconnection customer. I'm going to try the 'workaround' but will be waiting for a resolution to utilise the technology I bought the Deco's for.

Hi again @David-TP,
Here's the retest using Living Room Deco with devices @ 6 feet away
A32 5G
PC
S8
iPhone XR
I also tried the Guest Network with NO password, here's the A32 5G speed test results:
2.4 & 5
65.63
2.4 only
44.59
5 only
98.74

Hi @David-TP,
Just a quick update and for those following this post.
After 2 sessions of testing and a total of 3 hours of investigation and fix, my Living Room Deco (Main) is now reaching 350 Mbps with my Samsung Galaxy A32 5G from a distance of 5 to 15 feet. My Hallway Deco still has the issue but the engineer said, he'll look into it again. Also, this is the first time I experienced disconnection at 15 feet when we were doing the tests earlier today.
With the tests done, I think this is a Deco issue more than a phone issue. Hopefully, the config can be tested and rolled out as an update to those who are impacted by this issue.
