Model: Archer TX50E
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I have bought a TX50E for my Dell Precision 3640.  I have installed it and the WiFi works fine.  The Bluetooth doesn't.  The motherboard doesn't have an F_USB plug on it but it does have a plug marked CAC/PIV on the motherboard and CAC_PIV/BT in the service manual.  It is bigger than an F_USB plug (11 or 13 pins rather than 9) but the plug from the TX50E fits on the left-most 9 pins (with the blanked-off pin in the right place).  Maybe this isn't an appropriate place to connect the TX50E Bluetooth cable?

I have updated the Dell's BIOS and installed the latest Intel Bluetooth drivers (without error) but there is no Bluetooth device showing in Device Manager (which I assume there should be if it's working correctly).  There are some Bluetooth services running (e.g. Bluetooth Support Service) but Windows Setup doesn't show a Bluetooth on/off option and won't allow me to try and connect Bluetooth devices.

Am I missing something? Any help greatly appreciated.  It's not critical (because I bought the card for WifI) but it would be nice to have it all running fully.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I've solved the problem by using a 5-pin motherboard-header-to-USB-A plug cable and simply connected it into one of the USB sockets on the back of the PC. Worked first time.

  Hello@GrahamH

CAC_PIV/BT connector does seem to be a USB port, so it is not recommended to use  TX50E in that port.

TX50E USB part needs a 9 pin F-UBB port, some customers found it also works an 11-pin J-USB slot but kindly note that the USB headed must be correctly  inserted to the pins.

If motherboard does not have a F-USB port, you could check if there is any F-USB adapter/converter, or you will need a USB Bluetooth adapter like TPLink UB400/B500

@GrahamH Glad to know a USB-A  to 5 pin header works, though it's also new tor us. Thanks for the sharing.
