Model: Archer VR2800
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 0.7.0.0.9.1 v006c.0 build 210313 Rel.74106n

I'm experiencing a lot of disconnection from the internet and I'd like to know if there is a way to see if it a problem with the router or if it's an ISP issue.

Is there a log I can look out for?

@L3m0

Hi, Did you use a DSL connection?

Under DSL service, if the disconnection is caused by the ISP, the DSL and internet lights sometimes would blink or turn off;

On the web UI, you will see the DSL status jumping from initializing or connected(VDSL2 or ADSL);

If the disconnection is only on the wireless clients, Archer VR2800 might cause trouble.

As for the system log, can I have a copy of the log for the latest disconnection?

Thank you.

The version you have in use has been withdrawn for different problems of operation, and remaining (but perhaps by mistake!) Only on the Australian site and UK ... do exactly what the support recommended, that is the DOWgrade to a previous version in Waiting that in a few years settle the problem ... (in Italy we are in beta from 2019 even if the apparatus and ended up) (out of production! Stuff laughing.)

@PasKy Interesting to know. This unit was given to me as a warranty replacement for my VR2600 that was having NAT issues unless bandwidth control was enabled.

I did have another disconnection yesterday but forgot to take a copy of the log and it's now unavailable for the time it happened.  I'm sure I'll get another one in the next day or two.

.. if you downgrade the firmware, the problem should be solved ... (you will have others for sure, but if you do not touch the QOS and DDOS protection are quite negligible!)

@PasKy This seems to have worked for me thank you. It worked fine for a day after I bought it a few weeks ago then was literally losing connection every 5 mins. It was an utter joke. Just constant messages to reset the parameters or change the DNS manually. I had to go back to my ISPs router. After seeing your post I realised it started after I updated the firmware. I was about to return it this week but downgraded and it's been stable since. Cannot believe there is no official guidance on this, or that this firmware is even still available.

... I don't even understand certain TP-Link behaviors, it will be because new products and the R & D sector continuously comes out to stabilize the firmware of the various devices as they always engaged with new productions, apparatuses that promise strabiliant things and instead at the end You realize you have been teased because the promised functions in the advertising flyer, the VR2800 series are not applied, and now there is no stable and definitive firmware (I'm not looking for the moon!) But just get What I rightly paid and that I have never had in reality. (not at least But the additional functions cannot be used, but then I wonder .. why spend 300 € and more, if I then have the same functions as the modem of my provider because the others are unusable? Latest news from the router world (triband tip model etc. etc.): The AX11000 version of TP-Link, even very angry users because the router has not received the promised functions with updates including the Mesh function, now TP-Link launched a survey to see whether to implement it or not ... a router and only router for Game, which still today on Amazon costs € 400 I have no words ...

@TP-Link

Here is the log from the latest disconnection. I got two messages, one for configure DNS manually (which it is already) and one for disconnected / contact ISP.

I note that in the first file has problems with DNS Cloudflare and not with those of Google, in the second after releasing it obviously with both, try the version released for Italy, (if you also use the Annex Protocol a if instead b / J on the German website there are versions that work well even those old ones not new ones!) If you are also in the United Kingdom, ask Graz which version has used for downgrade) Stability and even greater if you leave the QoS disabled that It doesn't work well and the DDOs (equally), and if you have not connected the printer directly to the modem, deactivate the function (it can create sudden releases in some cases!) To me personally, despite having a "slightly damaged" line (FTTC 200MB) , it has never dropped in any way, all the rest of the functions have difficulty with the correct operation (not all but more than any of some) the last control that I suggest strongly is to check if you have IP conflicts in your network!
