Model: TX401
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

So I just purchased the TP-Link TX401 10Gigabit PCIe NIC installed it in my PC and connected it to the 10Gb port on my Zyxel 7501-B0 modem/Router with the included CAT6A cable and it does say it's connecting at 10/10Gb both on my PC and via the Router that's all good but here is the problem

My Fiber connection speed is 2000/2000Mbps so with this card I should be able to nearly max out that speed and it does do it for the download speed but for upload speed I'm not even getting 1Mbps it actually goes like this 2118 down and 0.04Mbps up using the speedtest app on Windows 10 X64 (21H1) to an premium test 10Gbps server Chorus Fiber test labs and several other 10Gbps test servers here in NZ including my own ISP's test server Vocus

I spent an hour on the phone with my ISP trying to sort it and we've both come to the same conclusion that it's the NIC

I also tested my PC via it's onboard Intel i211 nic via a 1Gb lan connection on the same router only to get 950Mbps down and 948Mbps up so there's nothing wrong there that's performing like it should also I tested the TX401 via the 1Gbps port and it acted the same great download speed exceptionally poor upload speed 998Mbps down and 4.25Mbps upload speed

so what do I do TP-Link either the card is faulty and needs to be replaced ( It is brand new purchased from PB Tech here in NZ) or it needs it's firmware updated to one that has this problem fixed

Ha lol you are not going to believe this but I've managed to fix the problem and you know what it was it was the efing brand new cable that was supplied with the router I switched it for a new one I bought this afternoon and viola doing the speeds it was supposed to so 2Gbps down and up

Thanks for your help

It's great to see Athlonite got the adapter to work right.

I have also published a solution here below, in case others may experience a similar issue:

What if the Download or Upload Speed of TX401 is slow?

Just let me know if there is anything new that comes up, and I'm ready to help.

@Athlonite

So far I have managed to increase the upload speed to around 95~115Mbps but that was only after using a driver supplied by Marvel and by also updating the firmware with the firmware update tool also provided by Marvel

so either this nic is garbage or the Zyxel AX7501-B0 router is crap

@Athlonite  Hello,

Thank you for your detailed information, please check the Link speed of the TX401X and see if the link speed is 1G or 10G?

How to check the associated/link speed on a wired client
https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2899/

If the link speed is 1Gb, please check if router have any Port settings and please force it to 10Gb.

Please try a different Ethernet cable if you have one.

May I have a link of the Marvell driver you have tried? Please also try the chipset driver here:
TX401(Win10 64bit)

https://static.tp-link.com/beta/2021/202102/20210201/Marvell_AQtion_x64_Win_ver2.1.21.0.zip

TX401(Win10 32bit)

https://static.tp-link.com/beta/2021/202102/20210201/Marvell_AQtion_x86_Win_ver2.1.21.0.zip

If still the same issue, may I have photo of the Link speed and speed test result.

Do you have other 10G NIC for a test to help exclude the issue?

Please help check the driver version of adapter and computer motherboard info and send us the photos, thank you. https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2722/

@Solla-topee

the link to the driver and firmware is here https://www.marvell.com/content/dam/marvell/en/drivers/Marvell_AQtion_x64_Win10_20H2_2.2.3.0.zip

this is on a 2Gbps symmetrical fiber connection as for having another 10Gbit nic to try no sorry I don't

PC Hardware specs

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

Ram: GSkill TridentZ 3200MT's 2 x 8GB dimms

Mobo: Asus ROG Strix X570F-Gaming

NVMe: Adata XPG SX8200Pro 1TB Gen3 x4 (installed in primary NVMe slot)

GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ RX6800 16GB

I'll give those drivers a go but they do look older than the ones Marvel are offering give me 30 mins to install them and test and I'll get back to you here then again maybe not those links you put up don't seem to work they keep tell me to

Please go to TP-Link Offical Website to get products, software and services for your region.
