I'm trying to log into to my RE450 to upgrade the firmware through the webrowser and it asks me for a password. I have tried my tp-link webpage password and the password for my home wireless network (the one it is linked too) and neither work and I only have 5 attempts left. What password should I be using

The default login password of Web UI is ' admin' ( in lower case) by default, the same password to login device on Tether app.
If all the password does not work, it is recommended to factory reset the RE and create a new login password for it:
RESET: With the extender powered on, use a pin to press the RESET button until most Leds flash once.
