Model: Archer MR600
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 201203 Rel.59032n

Hi, I'm on a remote location with 4G connection. I've been using Huawei B315s connected to 2 external LTE MIMO 2x2 ATK-LOG (800-3000Mhz) antennas that are on the roof of the house. With the Huawei router I get around 40 Mbps according to www.fast.com

Since Huawei B315s does not support Carrier Aggregation, and Archer MR600 does, and it's supposed to achieve better 4G connections I bought it.

To my surprise, the speed with Archer (connected to the same antennas) is exactly the same as Huawei's sad

Is there any setting that I might be missing ? if it's the same speed, I'll just return the router as it's not worth it...

@TiagoAS

Hey

Carrier aggregation requires the Carrier, Mast you are connected too and the device to support CA.

If you live in a remote rural location this may not be fully operational or available to you, the only times I personally have seem CA provide any tangible benefit is when in urban areas.

I live in a rural setting and like you, it makes no difference to my 4G connection what so ever!

What also makes me think its not available to you is the band selection and network type.   Vodafone CA works on 7 (2600mhz) and 20 (800mhz) so one would expect to see both listed.   Furthermore the CA devices usually read the network as 4G+  LTE when CA is active, yours is reading standard 4G.

Sadly I dont think CA is enabled in your location, however I could be wrong :)

@Philbert thanks for your answer.

I already saw the 4G+ but now it reverted to 4G. But at least it means it can achieve 4G+ , meaning CA,  right !?

Hey

Yeah based on that it does look like you can get CA, as you said   4G+  is CA

Hopefully it might settle down for you, the band 7 (2600mhz) doesn't cover range as well as the band 20, so you may find the 4G+ drops in and out..

Better to have it than not have it :)
