Installed a T6E adapter a few days ago. Installed a new router today (Archer A5). The T6E does not work in 2.4G mode. New router is on it's default settings, including the network names, which are different for the 2.4G band and the 5G band; however, I changed the passwords. The adapter works fine on the 5G band. Tried to connect to the router on 2.4G and 5G bands with an iPhone--both work fine, so it's not the router. Any ideas?

Hello, can you see the Archer A5's 2.4G network on this computer? Can you see any other 2.4G network on this computer?

What is the operating system of this computer? Windows 10 1909, or 2004?

Try to change the 2.4G wireless channel on the Archer A6 to 1/6/11, then reboot both the router and this PC to confirm.

@Kevin_Z

The 2.4G network was visible on the computer as were other 2.4G networks. My iPhone was able to switch back and forth between the A5's 2.4G and 5.0G networks with no problem. My operating system is Win10 Pro, Version 20H2, Build 19042.662.

However, I returned the acapter to the vendor and purchased a T3U Plus, which I knew worked well.

By the way, I also installed different drivers (old and new) but that didn't change anything.

I see, thank you very much for the updating. So is the T3U working fine now?

Yes, the T3U is working. Disappointing, however, that the preferred T6E does not.

Regards,

Ed
