Same problem here.

When connecting via 4G/LTE, port forwarding does not work. Switch same modem via Dashboard interface (connect 4G directly to usb port on pc and use modem build in software to configure 4G modem not to autodetect but to 3G only) and plug back into TP-Link 3420 v2 and Dyndns and Port Forwarding works. Connect via LTE and dyndns and Port Forwarding does not work anymore. Same modem - different protocol Bug lies with Tp-Link Firmware.

Please correct this. I have now loaded Openwrt and all is well. I hope that Tp-Link will fix this soon as for I want the original Firmware on my device.

As we know, when we use 3G/4G connection on a 3G/4G router, we will get an IP address from our ISP. It will be a private IP, also it can be a public IP.
If we get a private IP, of course we can't use port forwarding with a private IP address.
If we get a public IP, it will be similar with when we get a public IP address using PPPoE connection. So port forwarding should work this time.

Could you please tell me when you use 4G modem, the IP address you get is private or public?
After you flash the open-wrt. what IP address will you get?
Also can you share this open-wrt to us?
Thanks!!!!

Hello

Firmware Version:

Hardware Version:
MR3220 v2

Modem Huawei K4605

I have to watch my home in mountain with an ip camera model anbush nc316w
There is no internet connection except through 3G, Before i use a different router and all work fine but
i had to change it because it doen not re-establish the connecction. and now i bought th TP-Link MR3220:confused:
I have setted up the DDNS with a no-ip account and the port forwarding in the same way

So, now i could not connect to the camera via browser, the problem seem to be the port forwarding.
With a smartphone app that work with P2P i mange to view the camera.
With nslookup command i recive the right pubblic ip

Same problem

Firmware mr3220v2_en_3_17_1_up_boot(140929)
MR3220 and usb dongle MA180

no ddns no port forwarding

The MA180 dongle usb 3G give a private ip to the router
so no possibility for NAT

please TP-LINK correct this thanks in advance

It's not the cause of MA180 I think, it's because your ISP assign you an private IP address instead.
If your have other 3G/4G USB modem, maybe you can have a try, I think the IP you get is still a private IP address, thus Port Forwarding won't work.

I don't think your problem is the same as it works sometimes. You'd better describe it in details here or start a new thread.
When it disconnects, can you access the server with http://WAN IP:port?
Reset you mentioned refers to restart? Power off and power on the router?

Just bought this router and have the same problem that ports are not opened. Is this solved in any way?

I have public IP on 3G data card.

Tried MR3020 with, Huawei E3131, E173, E353 and no ports opened. Firewall OFF.

Thanks

Hi Kruu,

What do you open ports for? How do you test the ports are not opened? Some online test tools are not accurate, I think.
