Do router channels need to match Powerline channels?
Hi folks,
My router (a Vodafone one) is broadcasting the 2.4GHz on Channel 11 (auto) and the 5GHz on Channel 100 (auto), but I notice that my Powerline extender is using ‘Auto (Current channel 2)’ and ‘Auto (current channel 36). My WiFi performance isn’t great and I’m wondering about changing the channels. Should I fix them on the router and then fix them to the same ones on the Powerline, fix them on the router but leave the Powerline as ‘Auto’, or something else?

Hello, you can adjust the wireless settings as the instruction below.
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1418/
The powerline adapters do not have to match the router's channel; while they can be the same; Considering the current wifi performance of TL-WPA8630PKIT is not good enough, you can customize the wifi settings to give it a go. You can use different channel and channel width to test its performance and choose the best one.
May it help.
